Public health systems generate useful data and evidence to inform public policies and intersectoral campaigns for the prevention of violence against women and girls.
-
Data from the area, such as prevalence of cases, hospitalizations and deaths due to violence, as well as administrative records with information on outpatient and hospital procedures, can provide valuable indicators for early detection of violence.
-
The sooner victims are identified, and alerts are generated, the faster measures of protection are adopted, preventing cases from reaching more severe outcomes, such as hospitalizations and death.
