Vital Strategies is a global organization working in multiple countries for gender equity from a public health perspective, including the fight against gender-based violence.
The organization's Brazil office leads cooperation initiatives throughout the global south in the field of violence prevention, leading projects that promote knowledge exchange with Latin American countries and nations of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries in Africa. The main objective is to promote improvements in surveillance and data quality in these countries and to seek the creation or improvement of public policies to combat gender-based violence.
The Vital Strategies Brazil team conducted a workshop in Mozambique to train local institutions in the use of data matching techniques. The meeting brought together more than 30 government representatives and highlighted the potential of this methodology to improve the quality of information on gender-based violence in the country.
